May 18th, 2024 – A Call To All Believers
Join us on may 18th at Menard Sports Center Wasilla, Alaska |
On Saturday May 18, 2024 a very special meeting is taking place in Wasilla, Alaska. The church of the Mat-Su Valley is gathering to stand before The Lord as one. The purpose of this gathering is four-fold: – To corporately glorify Jesus Christ and proclaim Him Lord and King over The Valley and The State of Alaska. – To thank Him and recognize the many ways He is already working through His church to demonstrate His love and power. – To repent for ways that we, His church, are not in alignment with His will and purpose. – To earnestly pray and seek Him to heal our land. This gathering was inspired when key government, church, and marketplace leaders began sensing an urgency from The Lord to call a holy convocation of the Church of The Valley for this purpose. The Valley Pastors Prayer Network (VPPN) responded and sponsored this gathering. Their heart is to include all saints everywhere and pray for not only the Mat-Su Valley, but also Anchorage and the entire state. The inception of this gathering has been fueled by humility, honesty, repentance, and a strong sense of unity. There is agreement that we desperately need The Lord and we need each other and we cannot allow our cities to decline even further, not on our watch. We need God in our lives, in our land, and we desire to see all people choose to turn to The Lord. The overarching storyline of the Bible is one of choices: God choosing man and man choosing to accept or reject God. From cover to cover you see the story repeated. When men reject the Lord, reject His word, and do not follow His leadership, then rain does not fall, drought destroys food sources, famine hits the land, enemies ravage society, cities are destroyed, chaos prevails, and there is misery among the people. However, when man humbles himself and turns to God, honors God’s word, and follows His leadership, then rain replaces drought, healthy crops replace famine, right relationships replace strife, and enemies are defeated. Life and order are restored and the people rejoice. All these stories are recorded in scripture as lessons for us to know which way is right and good and to avoid repeating the mistakes of those who have gone before us.Today is no different and the same choice stands before us. However, when we look out the window, it may seem like the giant we face is too big or too hard to defeat. Many, even in the church, have felt hopeless, full of fear, and left feeling like there is no way to win this battle and there is nothing we can possibly do. The scriptures remind us that the Nation of Israel once felt that way too, until the words of a shepherd boy named David rang out, “Is there not a cause?” His words filled a people with courage and that day a giant fell before their eyes and the tide turned for the nation. Today is our day and this is our time. What will we do on “our watch”? Will we stand by as our governments, school boards, classrooms, institutions, families and cities crumble before our eyes? Will we stay silent? Or will we come together as one church and pray with one voice to The Lord, asking Him to forgive us, help us, send us, and fill His church with boldness? God is the same yesterday, today and forever. He still listens, and He still responds to the prayers of His people. Because of that, we are not those without hope. In fact, quite the contrary. There is great hope springing up in the Church of The Valley and there is a new momentum building. On May 18th we gather in faith that God will hear us and help us. May Jesus get the full reward of His suffering from this land. John 17:21 – That they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me.
